HS Student of the Month - May 2026
Gracie Granica
Class of 2027
Gracie Granica, daughter of Mike and Sarah Granica, has been chosen as the Winter High School Student of the Month for May 2026.
Gracie is a great student to have in class; she always does a wonderful job on her homework, helps other students, and is very funny when the time is right. She is respectful and helpful, often silently completing tasks, like returning chairs to their locations, without being asked.
Gracie is a member of the Lakeland Honor Society. She has participated in several sports while in High School, including volleyball, basketball, and track. She has also won awards for the past two years at the Winter School District Science Fair.
Mr. Jack Delabar, the Winter School District Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director, says, “Gracie has always been a joy to have in P.E. She is consistently one of the fastest players on the court (no matter where she is), but she is never too fast or too focused on herself to slow down and help someone out with something. Her sense of humor and personality are contagious, and she is starting to realize how much leadership potential she has for the future. It has been fun to watch!”
Mrs. Lueloff, the Winter School District Business Education teacher, says, “Gracie is a hard one to beat in the classroom. She is hardworking and stays on top of her work. She not only is on top of academics, but she also participates in class. I enjoy it when she participates because she stays on topic and relates our class topics to real life. She is always pleasant and upbeat in school, too. She is fun to have in class and to watch when she plays her sports.”
