Today, fishing 101 students competed for a variety of prizes. First 3 fish got a St. Croix Rod sticker (Kaylee, Vanessa, and Bryce), biggest fish received a Packer themed bucktail (Savannah), and most fish received a small tackle box from the Hunter Strop Memorial tournament (Savannah). Our best rule followers also received tackle boxes for their behavior (Jacob, Kiera, and Gracie, and Ava).
Fishermen and fisherwomen chose a spot along the gravel path and had 1 hour using the same bait to catch as many fish as they could. Results are as follows.

Mrs. Strop and Mrs. Adams took their summer school classes outside to roast marshmallows for s’mores and to do a scavenger hunt. It’s been a fun three weeks of camping adventures for these two groups. Thank you, Mr. Moelter, for helping us with the campfire!

Today students got special permission to go with Dr Ray and help with snake research. They caught a total of 15 gartersnakes and one foxsnake in just an hour! They are all excellent Junior snake catchers!

Mrs. Strop’s 4th and 5th graders had the best time learning about owls in summer school!! A highlight was dissecting owl pellets! Thank you, Dr. Ray for supplying the owl pellets and tools.

Summer School Math Fun
The objective of this project is for students to design and build a Tiny House, while applying area, perimeter, and geometry skills. Students created a unique version based on their own ideas, imagination, and application of skills. Students designed a house that contains almost 20 different pieces of furnishings and then found the area and perimeter of each item. They were also given the opportunity to apply geometric skills, such as shapes to design their own nets to create the furniture.

Middle School has been having fun coding with Mrs. Lueloff. They have been making a few games using Scratch. This is one that Caleb and Scarlett enjoy watching Mrs. Lueloff lose at!
