Science Club today learned about capillary action by putting white carnations into colored water. The flowers will take up the water over the course of the day and change colors! (Teachers: I am sure your Science Club students are asking about the progress of their flowers!) We also made Halloween bats, played Topple and got to see Dr. Ramen, the male Ball Python, up close.
Thank you to my Middle School helpers!
Next week we plan to make different types of slime so Science Club students should be prepared for a bit of a mess!

Once a week Accounting gets to go to the gym to blow off some steam. Accounting isn't always the easiest to learn, and this class has been working HARD! One day the elementary students came inside due to rain. They came into the gym, and I thought the high schoolers would want to leave. The high schoolers instead took full advantage of playing with the elementary students! What a fun experience!

October Student of the Month

Student of the Month
October 2025

Maddison Dalrymple

Class of 2027

Maddison Dalrymple, daughter of Elizabeth and Lance
Armstrong, has been chosen as the Winter High School
Student of the Month for October 2025.
Maddy is an exemplary student who is the perfect balance
between being smart but also pushing herself through hard
work in rigorous classes to get better every day. She takes
all of the advanced classes and puts in the effort to do well
in every subject. Maddy is also a three sport athlete,
excelling at volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter and
track or softball in the spring.
Maddy is currently a junior. After high school she plans to
go to college to become a lawyer.

Mr. Suralski, the Winter High School Social Studies
teacher, says about Maddy, “Maddison is everything you could want in a student. She is smart,
yet hardworking. Dedicated. Positive, enthusiastic, resilient, a great leader and sets an amazing
example for all students to follow. Along with these academic achievements, she also performs
at a very high level athletically. She exemplifies WSD qualities of "WORK" and "Being the 1"
every single day, yet challenges herself to be better and achieve more each day; and I have told
Maddy this - she inspires ME to be a better teacher every day.”

Mr. Delabar, the District’s Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director says, “Maddy brings an energy to the school
each day that is unmatched. She always has a smile on her face and is consistently caught
doing the right things. Holding doors, setting an example in the classroom, greeting kids off the
buses, you name it. That smile does occasionally disappear when it comes time to compete in
something. Maddy also excels in multiple sports here in Winter and we are glad to have her
back!” Mrs. Lueloff, the District’s Business Education teacher, says, “Maddy has never been one
to shy away from work. She is continuously doing her best, and when she feels it's not her best,
she works until it is. She is determined to be successful at school and on the court. She is
driven, and no challenge is too hard. I am so happy to see her smiling throughout the day and
having fun at school. She is definitely a qualified student of the month. She is a WORKing
Warrior! “

Congratulations to Maddy for earning Student of the Month for October 2025!

Moelter Racing Saturday.
Lisa Moelter (1st Grade)did great in her races. She is getting more comfortable every time. Speed will come with time. She finished each race, and was in good spirits after getting spun out.
Mr. Moelter's jalopy has been great. Racing was a blast. He had a little too much fun in the heat coming back up through the pack and got pinned with a last lap yellow in the heat. This put him in last for the start of the feature.

Mr. Moelter had 20 laps to get it done. "Be patiently aggressive" is something his Dad always taught him. He set a plan in his head and sent it. It worked out and he was blessed with a Pumpkin Win against a great field of jalopys for the 2nd year in a row.

Mr. Moelter also ran his 250 on Friday placing 3rd out of 8 great karts.

Congrats to Kearah on being our October Senior of the Month!

Kearah Warner-Balczewski, daughter of Ericka Ewert, has
been selected as the Winter High School Senior of the
Month.
Kearah has taken full advantage of the opportunities
available at Winter High School by excelling in her classes,
including several college courses. Upon graduating, she will
already have enough college credits to be considered a
sophomore!
Kearah has played volleyball throughout her high school
career and also participated in track. She also has been
active with Homecoming activities and is a member of the
Lakeland Honor Society.
After graduation Kearah plans to go to college and study
dental hygiene. She is currently applying to a couple of
different universities within Wisconsin.
Mr. Kolodzinski, the Winter High School English and
Language Arts teacher says, “Even with work and her college classes, Kearah's doing a great
job keeping up with all her work. She also provides a positive classroom example with her
positive attitude and strong work ethic.” Mr. Delabar, the District’s Physical Education teacher
and Athletic Director says, “Kearah has done a great job working on her senior leadership this
year. She has always been a leader, but this year she has become more conscientious of the
impact that she has on others and has really taken on that responsibility and owned it.” Mr.
Suralski, the Winter High School Social Studies teacher says, “Kearah has always been a
positive force in all of my classes. She has excelled in social studies courses and is just a
pleasure to teach.” Mrs. Lueloff, the District’s Business Education teacher, says, “Kearah is
someone who is going to be missed around the school. She not only works hard, she is a super
great helper to all around her. She is continuously reaching out to others and offering to help
when she is able. She is definitely a student who keeps me on my toes, and tells me when
something needs to be done. As much as she can be sassy (only with me, she says), she also
is something who always brings others up! Kearah is a one-of-a-kind senior at Winter!”
Congratulations to Kearah for earning Senior of the Month for October 2025!
