Rescue Divas EMS Camp For Girls is returning for 2022! Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 27th, 2022 and can be found at the link below. Rescue Divas is open to 20 middle school girls (currently 6th, 7th and 8th grade) residing in these 10 northwest Wisconsin counties: Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor & Washburn.
We are also looking for adult counselors to spend the week with us! Only 20 open spots left!
The Board of Education will be holding a Committee of the Whole meeting May 10, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the IMC at the WSD. The purpose of this meeting is to give the community an opportunity to speak to the board of education about concerns or questions they may have in a structured format. The WSD Compensation Committee will be holding a meeting April 20, 2022 at 5:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the District Conference Room.

Notice to Parents and Caregivers:
Last night, the board of education accepted the resignation of Christina Dahlman, elementary special education teacher, effective immediately. The position will be posted and the employment search for the 2022/2023 school year will begin immediately.
For the next six weeks, Anthony Casello will be providing instruction under the direction of special education teacher, Mrs. Sandra Johnson, who will be the new case manager for the elementary special education students.
Anthony is currently employed at the WSD as a paraprofessional and is a student at UW Superior with one class and student teaching to complete to earn his degree and certification. Anthony currently holds a substitute license and will be working as a long-term substitute.

The Winter Board of Education will be holding their Regular Monthly meeting tonight, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be located in the IMC at the Winter School District.
Last week, administration was notified of a potential threat. The Sheriff's department was notified and investigated the situation. It was found to be non-credible. Student safety is of the utmost importance at the Winter School District. Administration will continue working to provide a safe learning environment for all students and investigate any situation that arises.
The school board accepted the resignation of the art teacher, Daron Fayas, effective immediately. The position has been posted and the employment search has started for the 2022/2023 school year.
A search was made for a temporary solution for the remainder of the year, but unfortunately one was not able to be found.
For the remainder of the year, elementary teachers continue to provide art to elementary students. Middle school student’s art classes are being provided by Mrs. Dekan and Mr. Schmidt. The high school students will be receiving a passing grade and receive credit for the semester, and classes have been converted to a study hall in the library.

This 2-hour session will provide parents and community members the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have. Each person will be given 15 minutes to speak. No action will be taken at this meeting.
