Reminder MS Girls Basketball Practice starts after school!

Game Day! Girls only

Our Winter Middle School Student of the Month for December is 6th grade student, Peyton. She was chosen to be student of the month by her teachers for modeling our school wide expectations: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful. Peyton also excels in academics and enjoys spending time with her friends. Peyton says she enjoys playing volleyball and basketball during the school year and baseball in the summer.

The Middle School Boys Basketball Game at Northwoods scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, December 15th has been cancelled. This means our season has come to an end. Please turn in your jerseys and shorts before Thursday.

Mrs. Graf got to take some students to Northwood Technical College in Rice Lake today to learn more about the Farm Operation program! It is an affordable one-year program packed with lots of hands-on labs and useful information on the business operation end of agriculture. We got to try out some of the labs today, including meeting Bessy - the life-size cow simulator and practiced how to help a calf birth! To learn more about this program you can visit their website (https://www.northwoodtech.edu/academic-programs/degree-programs-and-certificates/farm-operation) or contact Mrs Graf.

Thank you to the Zion Lutheran Church for the generous donation!

Important Announcement!

This week’s player of the week is Reiley Kavanaugh! Proud of you, Reiley!
“Reiley has shown her leadership over the last week. She is putting in a lot of effort and is supportive of the team’s goals. She has a smile on her face when she is in the gym. For this reason, she was our player of the week.”

The challenge is on!
Winter kindergarten is racing to read 100 books before the end of the school year! Each student is working hard, at school and at home, to read books on our own. We even have a friendly challenge going on with Mrs. Greuel’s LCO first graders to see how quickly we can get to the finish line!

4K has been learning all about gingerbread. We explored how gingerbread is made, smelled fresh ginger (though we weren’t quite brave enough to taste it), tried gingerbread cookies, read several different versions of gingerbread man stories, and wrapped up the unit by making our own gingerbread houses. It was a truly sweet unit!

We are having a Blood Drive.

Sending Letters to Santa
Students in Winter School 4K through 2nd grade got to send off their letters to Santa on Wednesday morning. Each year, our Winter Post Office welcomes the students with cookies and juice, while students mail their letters and add hand made ornaments to the tree. A big THANK YOU goes out to Amber and Chelsea for always being so kind hosting us on this special morning each year!
