Kristyna Gryc, daughter of Lenka Kedronova, is
featured in our Senior Spotlight for January 2026.
Kriss is a dedicated student who has a clear
direction of what she wants and how she plans
to get there. While in High School, Kriss has been
active in Student Council and on the golf team.
Kriss has already joined the Army and plans to
pursue a career as a mechanic following
graduation. She takes any opportunity to
gain knowledge by spending extra time in the
shop and even working on her own vehicle
with the guidance of the Tech Ed teachers.
Mr. Mike Scanlon, one of Winter School
District’s Tech Education teachers says, “Well,
what can I say; Kriss is an absolute joy to
be around. She always greets you with a smile
and a can-do attitude. She excels at welding and
mechanics. She is a thinker and a problem-solver.
Kriss is going to go far in the world with
whatever she chooses to do. Mrs. Alicia Lueloff,
the Winter School District’s Business Education teacher, says, “Kriss is determined to do
whatever she sets her mind to. She is someone that follows through, whether it is joining the
military or getting her Yearbook pages completed! She has a good sense of humor and is a joy
to be around. I hope she’ll visit after she graduates!” Mr. Suralski, the High School Social
Studies teacher, says, “As others have mentioned, Kriss is very determined. In my years as golf
coach, I have had few athletes as motivated or as determined as Kriss. This attitude will serve
her well in the future. I’m excited to see Kriss play Varsity golf in her senior year!”

Jonny Lynch
Class of 2027
Jonathan Lynch, son of Chad and Nikki
Lynch, has been chosen as the Winter High
School Student of the Month for January 2026.
Jonny is currently a junior who has a perfect
attendance record through High School! Jonny
is well known for his ability to grasp most any
topic and excel in all of his classes. He is the
first to volunteer to help with any task and is
always friendly, regardless of the day. While in
High School, Jonny has participated in
football, basketball and baseball. He is a very
active member of the High Quiz Bowl team.
Mrs. Aliciia Lueloff, the Winter School District’s
Business Education teacher, says, “Jonny is a
student that always does his work timely, and
does it great! He is a student that you can try
to find faults with his work, but you won’t just
because he understands topics so quickly!
Jonny is funny and well respected by staff and
students. He’s someone I’m proud to call a
Warrior!” Mr. Mike Scanlon, one of the Winter School District Tech Education teachers says,
“Jonny has one of those bigger than life personalities. He enjoys sports, tech ed classes and
making new friends. He is the type of guy that is ready to lend a hand to anyone that needs
help. Jonny jumps right in on a project and gives it his all.” Mr. Suralski, the Winter High School
Social Studies teacher, says, “I very much admire Jonny’s positive attitude and his eagerness to
learn new things.”

Awards Day Photos Part 3
Today we had the pleasure of having Rick Richter, the Commander from the VFW Post 7233 and Frank Leuschen, the District 10 Commander come and present the three winners of the Patriots Pen Essay Contest. These are national contests, starting at a local VFW post level, and proceeding up to District/State/and National.
Winners are:
1st Place, Alexis Steinborn 6th grade
2nd Place, Kaylee Langham 7th grade
3rd Place, Abigail Loser 8th grade
Alexis's essay was forwarded to the state VFW District 10, covering more than 64 different school districts. Her essay was again selected as the winner. She will now move on to the state level. Congratulations!
