The champs aren’t too important to still appreciate their status in the eyes of our littles! A number of our volleyball players greeted Winter School District students as they got off the bus fresh off of a tournament championship this past weekend. The Warriors have two games today as part of a Tri in New Auburn (4:00 and 5:45ish) and then host Lake Holcombe tomorrow evening at 5:45/7:15! JV will be back in action tomorrow evening.
Great job, ladies!

Tomorrow's volleyball schedule

The 4th grade enjoyed reading about cells and organisms, no better way to celebrate our learning than with some hands on science with Dr. Ray.

Reminder that the Walk for Tomorrow will be on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the track.

Shout out to all four of our Warcat softball coaches cheering on all of the Winter and Birchwood girls at their volleyball game this week!

Today the students in Science Club learned about the physical reaction of bubbles...we added Mentos to different types of soda to see how they would react. The overwhelming hypothesis was that the Coca-Cola would react the best, followed by the generic cola and then the orange soda.
They were right!
We also snuck in some time to look at the live animals and build an ecosystem with the plastic critters.
What will next week bring?!

BE THE 1 Recognition
Mr. Scanlon is our staff member that is receiving the BE THE 1 Award. He is described as having great pride and is always outside greeting our students when they arrive at school.
Mr. Scanlon nominated Kaydance G for the student BE THE 1 Award. Kaydance is very eager to learn new things. She is outstanding in the way she carries herself and is a great role model.
Way to "WORK"!

Warriors "WORK"ing
Mr. Scanlon and Kaydance presented at last night's Regular School Board Meeting. Kaydance shared that the shop class did a lot of cleaning in the shop and have already started doing hands-on stuff. The class has started working on small engines and the students are very excited to have Tech Ed back at the Winter School. Way to "WORK"!

Great minds think alike on picture day! Mrs. Adams and two of our kindergartners

Middle School Flag Football Practice Schedule

There was excitement in the air today when 4K discovered four different kinds of mushrooms outside! First, they poked them with sticks (of course). Next, Mrs. Grimm used gloves to collect them and put them in specimen jars. Then, Miss Shelby helped find a reference book from the library about Fungi of the Northwoods. Last, they examined them with magnifying glasses. Way to "WORK", 4K!

Reminder tomorrow, Monday, September 15th is Picture Day!

Please see the following and know that we are monitoring the weather closely for tonight’s contest.
In the event that a flag or varsity football game is cancelled, players should be picked up in the back of the parking lot off Grove Street nearest to the field. Please be patient if this situation presents itself so we can safely get all student athletes to the right places.

Kinders explore the world around them at the beginning of the year by learning all about apples! We got to pick the apples from our school trees and today we got to make crockpot applesauce in class! It smells amazing!! We've also been learning about what we can do with the "leftovers" (composting and animals that help eat the skin/core). Hands-on learning at its best!

Greetings from part of our WarCats Football team! These students were welcoming other students arriving at school today with high fives and smiles! Way to go!!
