This week in Guidance, we went outside to find 7 hidden letters and worked together as a team to unscramble the letters to figure out what we are learning about next in Guidance - Careers! This month we will be focusing on careers. We also had a little contest to start out our Career Unit. Each grade was timed to make a list of as many careers as possible. 3rd grade ended up winning with a list of 54!

Flag football season has come to an end! Tons of learning took place this season and we were able to field both a 5/6th grade team as well as a 7/8th grade team. The season culminated in a Jamboree in Winter with all 5 teams in our league. Winter did not lose all night!

👩🔬🍎 4K students are ... SCIENTISTS! This week’s science focus: the sense of taste.
Today, we explored all things apple—sampling 5 different kinds of apples, crunchy apple chips, and even a small caramel apple candy. Students used bingo daubers and recording sheets to carefully document their discoveries.
Hands-on learning never tasted so good! 🍏✨

We were "rolling" today in Science Club with our focus on magnets and marbles...an introduction to physics. Students built a marble run, played Kerplunk and built structures with magnets. I know the students are begging for more than one day a week of Science Club. I also work with WORK club on Thursday afternoons so they could consider signing up for afterschool activities during the next session. As for another morning...I'll keep you posted...it is so exciting to see students of all ages working together and being so excited about science! Part 2

This past Friday the High School and Middle School students visited the Project Northwoods Research Area (formerly the Winter Archery Club) to learn about Native American culture from the Bizihiki Wellness Center. Students learned about making tea from native plans, took a nature hike, participated in a dance, heard stories, played a game and tried some traditional foods. This was an amazing experience for our students! Thank you, Bizihiki Wellness Center, for a wonderful event on a beautiful day!
